The Rocca Respampani has been built in the early 17th century on the intiative of Ottavio Tassoni, Preceptor of the Pio Istituto del Santo Spirito, but remained uncompleted because the surrounding area did not have the forecasted urbanistic development. Thus already in 1738, it was practically abandoned and today it is a rare historical example of 17th century castle architecture.
